A Beautiful Morning

Rainpaw blinked in the sunshine that dappled her coat. Yawning and smiling contentedly, she stretched and leaped out of bed, suddenly awake and ready. Oh, it was such a beautiful morning, and the small she-cat was impatient for her Clanmates to wake up. She was hoping that perhaps today her great leader, Flamestar, would be able to find a mentor for her! It would be so much fun, training and learning about the warrior code. Rainpaw thought to herself, I'll train so hard that someday, I'll be the best warrior in RiverClan! The apprentice bounded over to the fresh-kill pile to get a bite to eat. After gulping down the last bite of her delicious vole, she sat in a patch of shade, wondering what she should do.

Flamestar walked out of his den and stretched. Then he walked into the apprentice's den looking for Rainpaw. She wasn't in her den! Flamestar quickly turned around looking in camp to see if she was in the clearing. He finnally found her lying down in the shade. "Rainpaw I think I have decided who your mentor should be." He meowed hoping she would ask who it was.

Rainpaw's eyes widened and her tail flicked with anticipation. "Really? Who is it, Flamestar???"

[nightpaw]

"Since all the experienced warriors already have an apprentice, I think I should take you as my apprentice!" Flamestar smiled happily at the young apprentice.

[rainpaw]

Rainpaw's jaw dropped and her eyes widened with shock. She couldn't believe it! Flamestar was going to mentor her!!! What an honor this was! "Th-thank you, Flamestar!" She mewed, eagerly dipping her head in respect.

[nightpaw]

Flamestar smiled and dipped his head. He walked away back into his den.

Rainpaw's whiskers twitched with excitement as she watched Flamestar pad away. She couldn't wait until her ceremony!
